UI / UX Demo of a Salon Booking platform

New Year. New Skills. It is time to upskill myself by learning to use new prototyping tool, like Adobe XD. So I attended an intensive 5-week UI/UX course with Sparka Academy in Dec 2021.

Hong Kong is a city that is full of great business starters, and my team picked to do a website that is a salon booking platform for instant bookings of any salons near you.

The user journeys include one for customer and the other for the business partner that comes with a dashboard for making the management of the business at ease.

I led the project from assessing the user flows of the customers and business partners to the design systems of the UI through to prototyping and how to present the user flows with the prototypes at the final capstone presentation. We also did some mini user testings on some features to ensure a smoother user experience for the the end users.

UI DESIGNS FOR CUSTOMERS

USER FLOW CHARTS FOR CUSTOMERS AND BUSINESS PARTNERS

USER TESTING
To allow user to focus on the main tasks on this online booking system of salons, the side features will need to be integrated into the user flow as seamless as possible. The team and I did some mini testings on the user flows of the promotion bar at the top of the page.

USER FLOW #1
As soon as the user enters their email address for the promo code, the top promo bar will have a green background and a confirmation message that the promo code has been sent, and user can easier get back to normal usage of the home page without any interruptions.

USER FLOW #2
The "Yes Please!" button will turn green and with the button call out message changed to "Sent" along with a tick icon. This user flow requires one more clicks to get back to the normal usage of the home page.
